According to an official police statement issued on June 9, 2026, the suspect has been identified as 39-year-old Eric Buernortey Apaflo.
Police said the suspect was arrested by a Nyinahin District Police Patrol Team on June 8, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., following reports of an assault involving an 18-year-old female student identified as Patience Chibu.
