Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has decried the act of men going down on their knees to a woman in a relationship or marriage.
In a video shared online where he was speaking to a blogger, Pete Edochie described men who kneel to propose to women as fools.
According to a Nigerian movie star who has been married for 51 years, that practise is an imitation of the white cultur,e and it connotes relinquishing your power to her.
“Any man who gets down to kneel to a woman is not just an idiot; he is a bloody fool, a compound fool. We are trying to copy the white right?. I believe in the essence of our culture. The white man kneels down to propose to a girl, you know what it means. The girl takes over the family.
This is why you disagree with your wife overseas you are kicked out and your wife takes the house. Don’t you know that?
Young men like you, who should be in charge of your destiny, you hand over everything to women, which makes you a fool,” he stated.
This viewpoint argues that kneeling is a sign of weakness, an unnecessary adoption of Western culture, and a reversal of traditional gender roles, where a man should be the head of the family
