Afrobeats star says maturity and family life have replaced his party lifestyle

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, says he no longer lives the party-filled lifestyle that once defined his early years in the music industry.
Speaking in a candid interview on The LongForm Podcast on YouTube, the multi-award-winning singer revealed that maturity, family, and rest have now become his main priorities.
Reflecting on his early rise to fame, Davido admitted that his youth and success had plunged him into a fast-paced nightlife culture, where clubbing and partying were almost routine.
“I used to go out a lot to clubs, parties, everything. But now, I don’t even do that anymore,” he said. “I’m at a different stage in my life. I’ve realised I enjoy peace, my family, and just staying home.”
The “Feel” hitmaker added that these days he prefers to spend time with family, work in the studio, or host small, private gatherings with close friends instead of attending late-night events.
Even during recent extended visits to Nigeria, Davido said he chose to stay indoors, finding contentment in quieter moments rather than the chaos of nightlife.
“When I’m in Lagos now, I don’t even go out. I just chill at home or at the studio,” he shared.
Davido described his new lifestyle as calmer but deeply fulfilling, explaining that his responsibilities as a husband, father, and global artist have reshaped how he balances fame with personal life.
However, he noted that while he no longer frequents nightclubs, he remains full of energy when it comes to music, live performances, and creative projects.
“I still give my all when I’m on stage or in the studio. That’s where I have the most fun now,” he said with a smile.
Davido’s remarks offer a glimpse into the evolving life of one of Africa’s most celebrated musicians a star who says he’s finally found peace in the quiet rhythm behind the spotlight.
