An Iranian government spokesperson has disclosed that the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel has resulted in the deaths of 193 children, with the youngest victim an eight-month-old girl.
Speaking before a display of portraits of the deceased children, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said another infant, a four-month-old, had also been injured during the attacks, according to the Mehr News Agency.
During the briefing, Mohajerani also highlighted the impact of the conflict on the country’s health sector, stating that 11 healthcare workers have been killed in strikes so far.
She added that multiple medical and emergency facilities have been targeted, including 52 healthcare service units, 29 medical facilities and 19 emergency response centres.
According to her, 16 ambulances were also struck, with four ambulances and a rescue helicopter destroyed.
