Nigerian Afrobeats star Mr Eazi has sparked reactions online after jokingly insisting that fans and followers must now address him with a new title.
In a video sighted by NKONKONSA.com, the Leg Over hitmaker declared that he is “nobody’s mate” and should henceforth be referred to as “Sir.”
“From now, you guys have to add ‘sir’ to my name because I’m not anybody’s mate. Look at this. No big small thing. So when you see me now, say Sir Eazi, Sir Eazi,” he said in the clip.
Although it remains unclear what prompted the comment, many social media users have interpreted the statement as humorous rather than serious.
Mr Eazi, known for his laid-back personality and business acumen, has built a reputation not only as a musician but also as an entrepreneur and investor within the African music industry. His latest remark has since generated playful banter among fans, with some already adopting the “Sir Eazi” nickname in the comments section.
