Gospel musician Mavis Asante has opened up about the values that keep her marriage stable and fulfilling.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the singer shared personal lessons from her journey as a wife. She admitted that marriage comes with emotional highs and lows, but believes honesty and mutual respect make the difference.
“I have cried. I have experienced the emotional rollercoaster that comes with being a wife,” she said. “One thing I appreciate about my husband is that he has never raised his hand at me. When he makes a mistake and I talk to him about it, he makes sure he does not repeat it.”
According to Mavis Asante, one of the major turning points in their marriage was the decision to remove secrecy from their relationship. The couple agreed to operate with full transparency, especially in areas that often cause tension in marriages.
She revealed that financial transparency plays a key role in their union. The gospel singer disclosed that both she and her husband have access to each other’s financial information, including their mobile money details.
“I know his MoMo pin, and he knows mine,” she stated. “When he receives money, I get the alert on my phone. It keeps us in sync, and there is no fear of exploitation.”
For her, trust is built on accountability, open communication, and a shared commitment to growth. She stressed that marriage requires effort from both partners and the willingness to correct mistakes.
Her message has sparked conversations online, with many praising her honesty and others debating the idea of sharing financial access in marriage.
