Hearts of Oak has confirmed that Rocky Dwamena, a midfielder for the club, has successfully recovered from surgery after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
A significant milestone in the midfielder’s recuperation process, the treatment was performed on Friday night at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra and was said to have gone well.
In a Ghana Premier League matchday seven match on October 26, 2025, Hearts of Oak and Bibiani GoldStars SC drew 2-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Dwamena was injured.
Dwamena is anticipated to miss eight to nine months, during which time he will participate in a closely watched rehabilitation program in order to return to full health, according to the club’s medical staff.
Prior to the regrettable loss, the 23-year-old, who joined Hearts of Oak from Dreams FC in August 2025, had made four league appearances for the Phobians. He brought invaluable expertise to the Hearts team from his time playing for Asante Kotoko.
Hearts of Oak will keep a careful eye on Dwamena’s development in the hopes of seeing him return to competitive play later this year.
