However, Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artist Stonebwoy did not receive a nomination for the 2024 Grammy Awards.

This shocking outcome comes despite his recent triumph at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) and 3Music Awards, where he won the prestigious “Album of the Year” (AOTY) award.

Stonebwoy’s album “Dimension album,” released in 2023 marks a watershed moment in his career.

The album showcased his continuous progress as an artist, featuring an incredible mix of collaborations with global superstars such as Angelique Kidjo, Stormzy, Tiwa Savage, Oxlade, Dexta Daps, Mereba, Jaz Karis, DJ Maphorisa, Shaggy, and Davido

The 17-track album received enormous digital streaming as well as nominations for numerous well-known awards.

5th Dimension, which was once regarded for a Grammy nomination, contributed to his AOTY wins at Ghana’s TGMA and 3Music Awards, as well as other key awards in the African music business.

While the 2024 Grammy Awards nominations are out, there are a few African artists who made the list due to their exceptional talents and effort to their craft.

Stonebwoy’s omission from the 2024 Grammy nominations has left many perplexed and surprised.

They questioned the selection method and criteria used, particularly for African artists, citing the popularity of his 5th Dimension album and its global appeals.

Despite missing out on a Grammy nomination, Stonebwoy is undeniably one of Ghana’s top artists; yet, as he is hoping to widen his reach and continue to create unique music that combines African sounds with global influences.

Rocky Dawuni, the only Ghanaian who has once again elevated Ghanaian music, received a nomination for Best Global Music Performance for his song “ Rise”.

He is currently the Ghanaian musician with the most Grammy nominations, having received four.
